It’s a Tuesday, that for some people, feels like a Monday. Which is pretty much the worst. But I bring happy relief from the drudgery that is this pseudo-Monday!!!
One of the best things about books, is meeting other people who have been wooed by the same books that have found their way into your heart. That’s exactly how I met our next #bookstagrammer, Kara (that’s car-a, so you don’t pronounce it wrong for a year like someone on this blog, not naming names). You may also know her as @so_chaotic.
Our mutual love for all things Red Rising is the reason we started talking. Love of books, bookish things, and the color black, are the reasons we became such good friends! Okay, so it was more than just that. I mean, we both have a soft spot for villains. Wednesday Addams is our spirit animal. Coffee is our life. And we both throw Red Rising at anyone and everyone we meet. Or talk to. Or glance at on the street.
You get the point. We are fangirls to the extreme and will spend hours obsessing over which edition to buy and WHY DOES THE UK ALWAYS HAVE SUCH GORGEOUS EDITIONS??? Ugh.
If all of that isn’t reason enough to give her a visit, she’s always taking her books, well, and her kids, but really her books, on adventures. And I love her creative DIY projects! She’s always doing something clever. She brings all the bookish goodies to her account, and if you ever need someone to encourage your online shopping habits, Kara is your enabler. I mean, friend. Seriously though, she is awesome to chat with and has a lovely account.
So grab your coffee, give your Red Rising merch a hug, and let’s get to dishing!
When did you start your Bookstagram account?
August 4, 2014 it’s pretty much crap at that point. It was a personal account that ended up being mostly about books. I followed the white rabbit of hashtag and for #bookstagram and I never went back.
Why do you bookstagram?
I bookstagram because I love the community. All of my friends have me-they call me the dealer ha!- I read and recommend for them. I needed a me for myself and the community does that. I realize that sounds incredibly self absorbed. I’ve made so many friends from this. There’s no way I could give up the community.
Favorite bookstagram account?
No way dude. Uh uh! Not gonna do it.
Favorite non bookstagram account?
Currently a local breeder who had a litter of English cream retrievers. PUPPIES!!!!
You can’t tell me there’s puppies and then not tell me where! NAME THIS ACCOUNT!!!
They’re @creamretrieverpuppies
ERMIGOD!!! I LOVE THEM!!! Sorry about that, I wasn’t quite prepared for that level of cute. Where were we? Oh, right, theme or no theme?
No theme. I just don’t have it in me. My life is chaos, and I love that busy, rapidly changing way of life. So no theme. I would get bored.
Favorite photo on your account?
Can’t do it. I’m often fond of fanning pages…
I love fanned pages too! Why is it your favorite?
It’s so inviting!
What do you do when you’re not on the Internet?
Read, chores, tickle my two year old. She has the best laugh. I also do make time to get out with the girls!
Hobbies?
Besides reading? Haha I love a diy project. Specially if it involves painting.
Favorite place to read?
Still working on that.. I want to make a nest for myself and I’ll have a hammock too! I enjoy reading outside. Or wherever there’s a cup of coffee close by.
Favorite genre?
Response loading…. looking at my shelves you’d assume fantasy. But honestly I adore a solid end of the world read.
