Besides painting books that will make you drool, she hosted a read along last month to prepare for Samantha Shannon’s newest book, The Priory Of The Orange Tree. When did you start your Bookstagram account?

July 2016 was my first month of Owlcrate. I believe it was waiting for me when I got home from comic-con. Within a few weeks of getting that box I posted my first Bookstagram photo!

Why do you bookstagram?

Initially it was to talk to people who were reading the books I was reading. I found so many new books so quickly it was overwhelming and awesome. Now I also do it because it inspires me! I have found creative skills I didn’t know I had thanks to this community.

Easy!

@theleesmenagerie. She is creating something special with her art dolls. Her creations make my little corner of the world so much more magical. She’s also an aspiring writer!

Theme or no theme?

I have a loose theme, but I don’t really stick to it well. I like accounts with a theme, but ultimately I think you should post whatever you want.

Why is it your favorite?

I have a lot of nice photos of The Bone Season right now, this is one of my favorites. Feels like I could’ve taken it in Warden’s room. 

What do you do when you’re not on the Internet? 

I’m a pretty sedentary person, I like watching TV, painting, book shopping. Painting takes up the majority of my offline time.

Hobbies?

Other than books, I also collect enamel pins, so displaying them is a bit of a constant work in progress. I also spend a lot of time with my fluffy dog, Laufey.

Favorite place to read?

My couch usually! I tend to fall asleep when I try to read in bed. Cozy blanket, warm drink, and a comfy couch make for the perfect reading spot.

Favorite genre?

If I have to pick one I would go with High Fantasy. I love Sci-fi too.

Ebooks, audiobooks, paperback or hardcover? Rank them for me.

-Hardcover are my top choice, they just feel so eternal and special to me.

-Audiobooks are awesome for me, so they’re next. Always great to help get through a readathon.

-Ebooks I would rate 3rd, I have a ton and I slightly prefer reading on my kindle to reading paperbacks. 

-Paperbacks are last, I always feel like I’m going to bend the spine and ruin them, though I never actually do. 

Book boyfriends? For or against?

Most of the book characters I crush on are girls actually! There are very few male book characters I can think of I would want to be with romantically.

Girl crushes totally work!!!

Some of my faves are Lazlo Strange, and Sarai both from Strange the Dreamer, Nina Zenik from Six of Crows, and Emika Chen from Warcross. 

What book represents your life?

This is a tough one since I mostly read sci-fi and fantasy, but I’ll go with Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach. It’s one of my all time favorite books, literally about a Seagull who wants to fly better. It’s great though, go read it.

When did you start blogging?

Very recently! I have been keeping my reviews on GoodReads for over a year and I decided to branch out into my own blog in the hopes of getting more involved with book promotion for the authors I love.

Coffee? I struggle to stay awake when I read so the caffeine is a must. I almost exclusively drink coffee from @bookloverscoffee so at least i’m on theme! 😀 

Well, I can’t argue that Shelly’s coffee is the most divine thing on the planet, and is also the perfect reading companion!!!
